Love is in the Air
I think the best way to celebrate our love is to share time and great food together.
What is better than with chocolates and wine?
Along with Valentines Day being right around the corner, my husband and I are celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary this coming weekend.
I needed to set the stage with a beautiful table setting and some romantic light catching decorations. I chose to make a lavender wreath and lavender on our napkins because it reminded me of our time in Italy where we stayed at a bed and breakfast surrounded by lavender fields. It was such a romantic setting!
The chandelier pendants were made from wine corks, red beads and a heart charm at the bottom to finish each one off. They are such a lovely touch overhead.
Each year around Christmas, I make home-made vanilla extract. It is made from vanilla beans soaked in vodka. It takes at least 8 weeks before the full flavor comes through and I am able to use. It is always around Valentines Day that I can break open the first bottle! I plan on making some full flavored cookies for the other loves of my life, my kids.
